In France, since 16 Ocotber 2020, the Mountain Law has come into force. This law affects 48 departments which are highlighted in blue on the map. We could like to remind you that this decree imposes the use of suitable equipment during the winter period which runs from 1 November to 31 March.
This obligation applies whether you live in the department or just pass through it. If you fail to comply with this obligation, you risk a fine of €135 or even the immobilisation of your vehicle. But let’s not forget that this law aims above all to make motorists safer by preventing them from getting stuck in the snow or losing control of their vehicle.
